Dell P. Smith, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Our staff is led by Dell Parker Smith, MD, FACS, a board certified plastic surgeon in Twin Falls, Idaho with extensive training and experience in all areas of reconstructive and cosmetic surgery. Originally from Eastern Idaho, Dr. Smith attended Idaho State University in Pocatello receiving a B.S. in Zoology, after which attending medical school with 1 year of OBGYN residency at the University of Washington in Seattle. He completed his general surgery residency at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan and served as a flight physician on Midwest Medflight Medical Helicopter service. Dr. Smith’s Fellowship in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery was earned at the Bowman Gray School of Medicine, Wake Forest University, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
Dr. Smith is well known for his talent and surgical expertise in all areas of cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Smith’s reconstructive surgery knowledge includes hand and craniofacial trauma, cancer ablation and reconstruction, and breast reconstruction.
It is important to know that your plastic surgeon is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and The American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons.

Dr. Smith’s excellent service has gained him recognition in the Twin Falls, Idaho Community – including his recent Chamber of Commerce “Extra Mile Award.” One of his publications includes his revolutionary work with Megadyne Cutting System entitled, “Advanced Cutting Effect (ACE) System vs. Cold Steel Scalpel: Comparitive Wound Healing and Scar Formation in Targeted Surgival Applications.”

Dr. Smith was born in Pocatello, Idaho and raised in the Marsh Valley area of eastern Idaho. He graduated from Marsh Valley High School in 1971 and then served a mission from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Australia, Italian speaking. Dr. Smith received a B.S. in Zoology at Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho. He went on to medical school at the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington from 1982 through 1986. Dr. Smith continued with his postgraduate work at the University of Washington, as a Resident in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology from 1986 through 1987. He then completed his general surgery residency at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan 1987 through 1992. While in Michigan, Dr. Smith served as a flight physician on Midwest Medflight Medical Helicopter service, was Deputy Medical Examiner from Washtenaw County, and Emergency Medicine Physician at Saline Hospital, Saline Michigan. Dr. Smith’s Fellowship in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery was earned at the Bowman Gray School of Medicine, Wake Forest University, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina from 1992-1994. Dr. Smith has held professional licensure in Michigan, Washington, North Carolina, Idaho, and Utah. He is a member in good standing with the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, and Fellow status in American College of Surgeons. He is also a member of the Idaho Medical Association. Dr. Smith has earned Board Certification in the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery.
