Breast Surgery Imaging

We Offer Vectra 3D

Dr. Dell Smith uses the advanced VECTRA 3D imaging system to provide our patients with the most complete education possible regarding their plastic surgery procedures.  Using this system, we take a 3D photograph of the patient prior to surgery.  Then, using VECTRA’s software simulation tools, we can create 3D representations of how you could look after surgery.  This allows you the opportunity to preview various surgical options and decide on the procedure that best suits your personal goals.

VECTRA 3D is used for all breast procedures at our office.  The entire process takes only a few minutes, and you will have the opportunity to review the results during your initial consultation.  At that time you can request alternative simulations to be sure you are comfortable with the recommended surgical plan.

What To Expect

Our VECTRA 3D simulation experience begins with a picture session in our office. This creates the starting point for your aesthetic consultation.

Using special simulation software on your 3D picture, Dr. Smith will show you the possible results of the aesthetic procedure options.  You will be able to view different looks until you find the one you like.

Once you have decided on the appearance you want, this simulation will provide a basis for your surgical plan.  Because you have already seen the expected result, you can be confident in the outcome of the procedure.

Vectra 3D Camera

The VECTRA 3D camera captures a 3D photograph of the patient. Using multiple cameras, it takes a number of pictures simultaneously from several different points of view. This is used to build a 3D virtual model of the patient.

Sculptor 3D Camera

The 3D photograph is processed by Sculptor software to display the virtual model on a computer monitor. It can be rotated on the screen and viewed from many angles. The software then allows Dr. Smith to apply simulation tools that change the size, shape and position of your breasts in order to achieve your desired appearance. Once you are satisfied with the result, Dr. Smith will develop a surgical plan based on the changes you selected.
