Facial Rejuvenation

The first signs of aging are visible on your face and neck. The changes are gradual but over time, you may not look the way you really see yourself. A facial procedure may be a solution. Dr. Smith and his staff will be happy to answer any questions you may have about our procedures. If it’s not listed, please ask as we do offer additional procedures.

Full lips have often been associated with youthful beauty. The lips are a major focal point of the face. The procedure to enlarge lips can reduce the fine lines and wrinkles above the top lip. There are several options for fuller lips. We would be happy to discuss them with you.

The upper lip tends to lengthen with age and an upper lip lift can shorten the lip and turn it to make it look fuller. Strips of dermis can enhance the lip fullness as well.

A forehead lift, also known as a browlift or browplasty is a procedure to remove lines above your eyebrows and to remove deep “worry” lines that run along the forehead. These lines may portray anger, hostility, sternness and fatigue or other unintended emotions. In a forehead lift, the muscles are removed or tightened to smooth the forehead, raise the eyebrows and minimize frown lines. Surgical methods may vary. However, one of the current procedures that we prefer is called an endoscopic forehead lift. This involves the use of a surgical endoscope to lift the brows and smooth forehead wrinkles with small incisions made behind the hairline. This minimizes scarring. An endotine device is used to secure the forehead lift. We would like to meet with you to discuss this and other procedures.

As you age, gravity and normal muscle contractions cause the muscles to pull downward. When this happens, cheeks begin to sag, lower eyelids look puffy and dark circles start to appear below the eyes. A facelift restores the natural form and contours of the cheeks. Fat grafting is an important part of this process. The result is a more natural, youthful look that doesn’t look pulled or stretched or overdone. The soft tissues in the face are repositioned in a superior direction. There are numerous procedures for improving necklines. A consultation is necessary to determine which is going to be best for you. It could be Botox injections, liposuction, fat removal, or a more involved surgical procedure. Some of these procedures can be performed alone, or in combination to achieve the desired result.

Probably no other need for facial plastic surgery cries out as much as protruding ears. Children are usually the prime candidate for this surgery. Nicknames like “Dumbo” or “Mickey Mouse” can cause emotional trauma and self-consciousness which can result in poor adaptation to school. Adults can receive benefits such as higher self-esteem and the ability to wear different hairstyles. Adults typically include this surgery in conjunction with other facial cosmetic procedures. If you are wondering how Otoplasty can improve your appearance, you must first find out how the procedure is performed. Dr. Smith will be happy to discuss the procedure and any concerns you may have.

Fat injection (also known as fat grafting) is a technique that’s widely used in cosmetic surgery to enhance tissue volume and provide natural looking, long lasting results. When it’s used in facial procedures, it’s called “Facial Fat Grafting.” The procedure is fairly straightforward: Fat is taken from a donor area on the body, is purified with a centrifuge, and is then injected into the area on the face requiring augmentation. Facial fat grafting is growing in popularity because it’s one of the most well-tolerated fillers available. It is safe and very effective.

Improving the appearance of the overall facial features often times start with the nose. Rhinoplasties are important to improve shape, form and function (airway). Large bumps, crooked structure and previous breaks from sports or accidents can be corrected. Septo-Rhinoplasties are done for both cosmetic and reconstructive purposes. It’s of vital importance to ensure an open and functional airway. Surgeries to improve the function of the nose are often performed because of trauma or birth defects.
